Project: A Washington, D.C. Commuter's First Home
The Homeowner and the property: Our client is a first-time homebuyer and new parent just outside of Washington, D.C. The home is located in a bustling commuter corridor, in a townhome, family-oriented neighborhood.
The Brief: The concept behind this project is to embellish a hyper-minimal and masculine aesthetic with texture and organic materials. The current spaces is sterile with very little warmth, so by introducing more upholstered pieces and dimension, we creates a dining room and guest room that is inviting for guests and hosting, while also retaining the integrity of the Client's very minimalist lifestyle. A key aspect of this project was to also add more functionality to the very small guest room since it is only sparingly used. We achieved that by adding the sleek leaning profile of the Fantol desk, which can also function as nightstand when being used as a guest room.
Services: Full design concepts, moods boards, 2-D and 3-D visuals, sourcing of all furniture and decorative accents.
